Vibrant Outdoor Wedding at Mount Edgcumbe House
There is a unique kind of magic to celebrating your wedding day on the Cornish coast.
We recently had the privilege of capturing a truly vibrant and deeply emotional celebration at the spectacular Mount Edgcumbe House.
From the joy-filled outdoor ceremony in the gardens to the breathtaking twilight atmosphere by the Orangery, the day was an absolute masterclass in bold styling and genuine, unscripted moments.
Setting the Scene at Mount Edgcumbe House
Mount Edgcumbe House provides a stunning architectural backdrop that balances grandeur with natural beauty.
The historic stone facades offered a beautiful, textured contrast to the day’s modern styling. The couple opted for an outdoor ceremony in the magnificent formal gardens, surrounded by lush greenery and classic stone urns.
As the day transitioned into evening, the celebration moved toward the historic Orangery. The soft, fading light over the manicured lawns and the illuminated venue created an incredibly cinematic atmosphere for the evening reception.
The Vibe and Aesthetic: Bold, Colourful, and Joyful
If there is one word to describe the aesthetic of this day, it is colourful. Moving away from traditional muted palettes, the couple embraced a brilliantly bold aesthetic. The bridal party was a standout, featuring mismatched bridesmaid dresses in striking shades of shimmering orange, emerald green, deep red, and metallic blue.
This vibrant energy carried through to the incredible floral design. Bursting with bright pinks, fiery oranges, and lush greens, the unstructured bouquets—complete with trailing ribbons—perfectly complemented the bride’s chic, modern gown with its elegant shoulder-bow detailing. The groom perfectly matched the relaxed yet refined vibe in a stylish olive-green suit.
Beyond the details, the true vibe of the day was pure, unfiltered emotion. From the groom wiping away a quiet tear as his bride walked down the aisle, to the triumphant raising of the bouquet during their first kiss, the atmosphere was electric.
Capturing the Day
The focus for this gallery was true documentary storytelling paired with a fine-art editorial finish. Whether it was capturing the relaxed, candid laughter of the groomsmen walking through the grounds or the quiet, intimate tears during the vows, the goal was to preserve the authentic feeling of the day. The resulting collection is a mix of rich, vibrant colour photography that highlights the incredible styling, and timeless black-and-white imagery that strips away the distractions to focus purely on the raw emotion of the moment.
